ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS o Diagnoses malfunctioning equipment such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures, using electrical test equipment and senses such as visual observation, and sense of smell. Replaces damaged or broken equipment, wires and cables, using hand tools. o Works safely to prevent on-the-job injuries by practicing GMP and wearing appropriate company supplied PPEs, attending safety meetings/trainings, reading safety bulletins and memos, and being aware at all times of potential safety hazards in work areas. o Complies with all company GMP policies. o Communicates, discusses and shares information about equipment malfunctions with other maintenance workers and team leads to develop and implement a corrective action plan. o Observes functionality of installed equipment and systems to detect mechanical, electrical or operational hazards to determine the need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement. o Troubleshoots machine center and operational problems by diagnosing if problem is mechanical, electrical, and operational or raw material related. o Evaluates and adjusts machinery for changes in materials, environment conditions, and operational error. o Communicates various work related problems and issues using radios, cell phones, land lines and e-mail in accordance with company policies and procedures. o Completes PM (preventive maintenance) work orders as assigned. o Identifies and installs proper fasteners, nuts and bolts, terminating devices for electrical installation and repair. o Locates needed parts by accessing JDE system, technical/machine manuals, Internet, and OEM specifications. o Uses schematics, blueprints, and diagrams to troubleshoot and diagnose equipment or process related issues and problems. o Calculates output ratios for motors and gearboxes. o Gathers tools and supplies to be used at work site, according to instructions. o Generates work orders that identify and outlines proper repair of equipment. o Maintains work areas by keeping tools, equipment, parts and supplies clean and in order. o Performs line changes as per line change documentations. o Performs minor repairs, such as replacing fuses, light sockets, bulbs, and switches, using hand tools. o Plans layout and installation of wiring and electrical equipment and systems. o Uses windows software applications such as MS Office. o Lifts, positions, and fastens objects, such as wiring, conduit, and motors. o Attends company provided technical and vendor training, in-house and off-site, during business hours. o Plans new or modifies existing system layout(s) for equipment by identifying specific mechanical or electrical components, location, functionality and safety requirements. o Safely drills and cuts hole using tools such as power drill, sawzall, knockouts, jigsaws and other cutting tools. o Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit, using tools, such as hacksaws, pipe threaders, and conduit benders in accordance to National Electric Code (NEC) and all local codes and ordinances. o Maintains satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness. o Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations. o This job description reflects management's assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS o High School Diploma or GED. o Two (2) years of industrial maintenance experience; or Certificate of completion from and accredited industrial trade program. o Required to be 18 years of age of older. o Required to work any shift. o Required to work overtime if necessary. o Required to lift up to 40 pounds frequently. o Required to pass the WorkKeys assessments in Applied Math (4), Applied Technology (4), Locating Information (4) and Observation (4). o Required to pass the Electrical Skills Test Device. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS o Experience working on high-speed packaging lines. o Performs assigned jobs with minimum direction and supervision. o Communicates ideas clearly and articulately. o Knowledge of solid-state electronics including PLC's. o Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code. o Good verbal and written communication skills. o Proficiency in all phases of machine work. o Demonstrates a proficient understanding of hydraulic pneumatics. o Working understanding of a CMMS System. o Basic PLC and VFD troubleshooting experience. o Knowledge of and experience troubleshooting complex electrical/solid state electronics using wiring diagrams and test equipment. o Experience setting-up and calibrating electrical hardware. o Training programs in safety. o Highly knowledgeable and skilled in repair and troubleshooting of packaging equipment. o Experience with basic Microsoft application (e.g. Word, Excel). o Three years' experience working in a production/manufacturing facility. o Knowledge of Bottling and Packaging equipment. o Knowledge of filling and labeling equipment. o Certificate of completion from and accredited industrial trade program.
